History
Cine Qua Non Lab, established in 2010 in Morelia (Mexico) and New York, is a non-profit organization dedicated to championing independent cinema, with a strong focus on fiction feature films. Our mission is to cultivate a collaborative environment where filmmakers can nurture their projects, fostering connections that spark the exchange of ideas and the formation of impactful partnerships.
We specialize in enhancing the narrative structure of audiovisual projects , offering workshops conducted in both English and Spanish. These workshops take place both in-person in Tzintzuntzan, Michoacán, and virtually, providing filmmakers worldwide with an immersive environment to explore their projects deeply. Here, creativity and innovation are nurtured, fostering a rich and dynamic atmosphere for artistic development.
We firmly believe that our unique setting not only facilitates project development but also cultivates a sense of belonging within a community of kindred spirits. At Cine Qua Non Lab, we cherish the interaction among filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, recognizing that such encounters fuel the birth of groundbreaking ideas and innovative approaches to filmmaking.
